Old News to Everyone but "The Bush Believers"
Everyone in America who read something other than the Bible for daily news has been aware of this story for years. Rolling Stone did a great piece on this (which I can't locate but it's referenced here.)
But in the same way Cheney and his chicken-hawks have found a way to demean real heroes in America, they will soon seek to demean this family.
Is anyone else as repulsed by these cowards as I am?

I Tried This as a Kid
NY Police Want Documents Sealed So They Don't Get In Trouble
It didn't work 50 years ago when I told my sister she should keep one of my deeds quiet because the harmony of the house would best be preserved by my parent's ignorance.
Now the lawyers for New York City are asking for the same deal regarding surveillance notes made in advance of the Republican National Convention in 2004. The police infiltrated a number of lawful groups to identify typical liberal ne'er-do-wells.
They travelled to over 15 states and to Europe because the protesters seemed to be a "well organized network". Republican paranoia at its best.
I'm surprised the T word hasn't been used yet.
I can just see Tooty and Muldoon tracking down the evil church groups of New York.
Talk about oxymorons: The Republican National Convention Intelligence Squad.
Wow.

Three Years of Protest Pay Off?
Here in the Midwest Parents Don't Question Son's Army Death
Out here in the flat lands we don't question OFFICIAL MILITARY decisions. We still think Viet Nam was necessary and win-able. We're not into international things.
Elsewhere in America people want to hold their government responsible. I doubt this will give Tillman's parents any peace three years after Pat's death but it's the best Rumsfeld and Gates could patch together.

American Idol meets Survivor U.S.
Why do the Dems Have a Deep Need to Embarrass Themselves?
Remember the song "Anything you can do I can do better / I can do anything better than you."
This ridiculous post-pubescent rhyme is influencing the Democratic front runners to the point they appear trivial, shallow and self absorbed.
Which they may be.

Can Anyone Resurrect Sam Ervin?
Democrats Argue Over the Definition of "Backbone"
Gee whiz, it sures looks like Georgie boy wants to play hardball on letting Harriet and Karl, Alberto and maybe even Dick testify under oath about the suspicious firing of eight Federal Prosecutors.
When Sen. Sam Ervin (D-NC) went up against another arrogant Prez, he pushed the chips forward and said "All in".
He called Nixon's claim of executive privilege "executive poppycock".
As written in Time
*Ervin said that his committee's hearing guidelines, accepted by White House officials, reserve to his committee the power to decide by majority vote whether the refusal of a witness to answer a specific question is proper. If the committee decides it is not, Ervin said, he will seek to have the witness arrested for contempt unless he answers.
Now that's what I'm talking about.

I Say "God Damn! Hallelujah!"
U.S. Discovers OK to Hang Ex-Vice Presidents
And I thought no good could come from this needless war. Turns out the Iraqi's just taught the US how to deal with Cheney 2 years from now.

Take your pick. Is the Bush Team
Dishonest, Stupid, Arrogant, or Self Righteous?
Or perhaps all of the above.
Give me a break.
First that little p***ant "Scooter" Libby (nice adult nickname) had severe memory lapses that made one wonder how he ever managed to find his office next to Dick Cheney's each day. Actually Cheney probably used a dog whistle.
Now they're claiming multiple memory loss (God help these poor stupid people, please!) as to exactly how the order to fire independent federal prosecutors came about and from whom. I mean it was a few months ago, man.
It's pathetic.
I actually thought they were just crooks.
Of course Dick Cheney's secret meeting with energy company luminaries like Ken Lay just 14 days after the 2001 inauguration really helped the American energy consumer like a magnifying glass helps an ant. As a citizen would you like to know who else was there? You can't because Cheney said he doesn't have to tell us. So I guess the energy companies were paying him because if we were he'd have to tell us right? That arrogant putz.
From seancoon.org: Olbermann, who might not speak for political analysts, but does for millions of Americans with quelled voices in this nation, put it best when he directly challenged this administration’s self-righteous claim to ownership of truth
So it's your pick...or all of the above. They're turning the paper shredders on now as Cheney packs for Dubai and they realize he's leaving and it'll be every man for himself.

Why Bush is the Worst President Ever Vol.6
Time to Itemize the Chicken Hawk's Iraq F***-Up
An incomplete inventory, but here's a start
1.) Lies about reasons to attack Iraq
2.) Repeating those lies as facts after proven wrong
3.) Refusal to recognize their bungling in Iraq
4.)Allowing international corporations to profit from the blood of US GI's
6.) The chicken hawks don't give a hoot about GI's
Only Republicans and Evangelicals could possibly believe that an Administration that professes high ideals but hasn't been able to find their ass with both hands might possibly be right about anything in the future.
Praise the Lord. God willing. Bless you all. Amen.

Holy Shit! Flordia Takes the High Road
Michigan Again Grabs the Low Road
God it's embarrassing: Florida treating prisoner abuse with respect and dignity.
After 60 Minutes did a piece on a preventable Michigan prisoner death, perhaps a death caused by abuse, ignorant Michigan Republican law-makers (I know: redundant) laughed it off. Rep. Alan Cropsey (R-DeWitt) speculated that "it must have been a slow news day".
And a political appointee in Michigan, Patricia L. Caruso, shrugs off criticisms of prisoner abuse and death. The voters weren't amused. If you watched her arrogant explanation on 60 Minutes last month ( basically "shit happens) you know she is Granholm's Rumsfeld.
Is this guy's critique of the system accurate? I'm betting yes. We're not going to save money cutting humane treatment for prisoners. We'll pay it all back and then some in lost law suits.

Arrogance, Thy Name is Bush (and Cheney)(and Rove)
Gonzalez and Miers Need Their Own Little Scooter Libby
Last Wednesday the story of the federal prosecutors being asked to resign was just breaking. I wrote that Attorney General Gonzalez was a poseur, trying to out-prick the master Karl Rove.
We're fortunate the Bush Team is so inept and their lust for power so obvious. Subtler people could have done more damage.
Still I'll bet the paper shredders start running non-stop in about a year because screw history, there are indictments to worry about.

On the bright side, the most arrogant pig, Dick Cheney, will probably relocate to Dubai because Haliburton is moving their headquarters there and they can't be extradited to testify about massive fraud from there and Cheney's less likely to be assassinated there.
But my biggest surprise in all this is the involvement of Bush's Counsel and former Supreme Court nominee Harriet Miers. I just thought she just couldn't speak, dress or apply make-up properly, but it turns out her dick's as big as Rove's.

Who Protects Citizens From the Police?
Maybe the 2nd Amendment is a Good Idea
In American elections the Supreme Court screws the challenger, but in Zimbabwe they don't let it get that far. They just send out the cops to do him in...how efficient and taxpayer friendly.
Lawyers acting up again? Nothing like Pakistani police to teach them how to behave.

Conservatives Reject Responsibility (Again)
Washington's Screwed Up and No One's to Blame?
My March 1 blog mentioned Truman's famous "The buck stops here" remark.
Now conservatives have always been keen to make people pay for mistakes from bankruptcy, incest, blow jobs, and drugs to...NOT the current President or little Dick Cheney.
I used to respect William F. Buckley, but his weaseling to absolve this administration of failing to meet minimum standards of thought and action which traditionally would reflect on an administration is just too loopy to deal with.
Buckley as an ideological conservative I enjoy. Buckley as a Bush / Cheney apologist (more frequently now) I laugh.

Attorney General Gonzalez Wants to Prove He's as Paranoid as Rove
US Attorneys Feel The Wrath of Karl & Alberto
The spin on the firing of these US attorneys is that possibly a Democrat (Domenici, D-NM) may have used his influence to spark the sacks, or at least one of them.
The smart money says the firings are the work of the paranoids in the White House (Cheney, Rove, and Attorney General Alberto Gonzalez) where any criticism by appointed staff (not elected staff) is dealt with.
My mother used to say if you haven't done anything wrong you needn't worry what people say.

Scooter Takes One for the Team
But Jurors Know Rove was the SOB
Jurors want to know "where's Rove" but of course he's still busy screaming at the president of Diebold (voting machines) for the November election results.

There's Not Just Corporate Welfare
There's Also Corporate Justice
Now imagine the press and the charges if the accused were black.
Justice may be blind...but not in America.
Personally I Like to Watch
Neanderthals Club Each Other
This whole gun control debate involves a few too many limp...well, you know. If you vote a single issue and it's gun control you're scary.
On the other hand, you do have the ability to get Republicans to suck up to you...so to speak.

Truman Said the Buck Stops Here
Now The Crooks Running America Lie and Scam so Much the Buck Never Stops
Even Republican apologists have to be getting tired of this administration's lack of credibility. They don't even stretch the truth...they don't know and don't want to know the truth. They want to massage, manipulate, and spin.
This buck should stop in the Oval Office but it won't. It will never stop.
Think Valerie Plame. Something illegal happened but that buck is still floating around the stratosphere and will never land
